Commemorating the American Soldier
See how the uniforms, accouterments, and firearms of the United States soldier have evolved over more than 200 years and speak with historians who portray soldiers throughout American History.
Candlelight Tour of Fort Osage
Experience how the holidays were celebrated at the historic Fort in the early 19th century. Interpreters will bring the season to life during this guided candlelight tour. Enjoy seasonal beverages, snacks and other holiday-themed activities in the Education Center before or after your tour. Advance reservations are recommended as tickets are limited. The first tour will begin at 5:00 pm, with tours continuing every 20 minutes until 9:00 pm. Guests are advised to dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
35th Annual Fall Muster
Experience Fort Osage’s favorite living history event! Soak in all the sights and sounds of a working 1810s Army post. See how men, women, and children formed a frontier community that had military and commercial connections to global events and trade. Hear military music along with the commands and orders of officers to soldiers as they go about their day and bring the past to life.
